I just bought this SeaLife underwater camera that also has video capability. Figured it wouldnt take good video, but it did pretty good for a little underwater camera.

Im going diving over christmas break and i was thinking of getting the sealife reefmaster mini since it doesnt need underwater housing. I know my pictures will be blue if i dont get a bigger light but the pro set with the big flash is 450$ compared to the price of 250$ for just the camera. If i got an underwater flashlight for like 30 bucks would it have the same effect on my pictures and make them more colorful and not so blue?
Get the strobe. A flashlight is no way near good enough for decent photography. The colour spectra is way off.
As for blue. Your pics will be blue, green, or tea coloured in background no matter what. It all depends on the water you're in. No flash or flashlight will compensate for it unless you're doing macros.
The crew are at Brighton Sea Life Centre and Jason and Suzi swim with sharks while testing the latest in underwater cameras and housing.

Hi there!
I am buying my first underwater camera, and I'm looking for some advice. I have been asking around on some scuba forums, but I want some advice from here too.
These are the 2 that I am pretty much deciding between:
http://www.amazon.com/canon-wp-dc12…
http://www.amazon.com/canon-wp-dc16…
Although I am unsure of the major differences, as the second one is quite cheaper then the first, and seems to have more MP and zoom.
There is also another offer I have received for an Olympus C4000 with PT-010 housing Sealife SL960D strobe with optical cable, arm and tray for $200. Decent deal??
Thanks a lot! :]
I've had a couple of underwater cameras over the years and my advice is to not spend a lot of money because you won't use it all that much… unless you are diving once or twice a week, that is.
